This is going to be a combined event. On Friday, June 22 from 7 to 9 pm, we are going to learn more about the health and meditative benefits of tea in one of Thia's inspiring tea tastings. Normally, a $20/person value, students of Silence Meditation are offered this educational event for free. Indulge in the endless variety of tea beyond anything you might have learned before.

Furthermore, we are just simply spending time together, outside of the normal class environment, discussing whatever is going to be the topic at hand. This is a great way to connect and share and learn about the principles that allow us to be who we are.

Join us and RSVP at EventBrite. Limited seating provided.

There was a lot of interest in the program and the retreat, with some sign ups for our classes on Fridays at Unity. We are grateful for Unity allowing us to present Silence Meditation and promote the classes. It looks like we are well on our way to build a strong community of committed and focused meditators.

A big thank you to all our current students who have spent time with us at our booth and offered their personal point of view about our classes and how it has impacted their lives. It was very well received, showing evidence of that great potential that lies within us.

Holistic & Green Expo – A success!

Unfortunately, we weren't able to build a group of focussed meditators that wanted to meet once a week to further their experience with a meditation practice.

We started out strong with a small group of six last November. We had some dropping the class, others picking it up. Sometimes, students from other classes would join us, because they either missed their regular class or just wanted to get a double dosage that week. It had all the potential to grow into a solid group.

However, slowly but surely, the class would shrink rather than grow. And despite several efforts to enliven the interest in the community with introductory talks, etc. we were unable to turn around the trend. It was therefore time to make the decision to free up the time and space at NiaMoves for others to fill, and for us to be able to offer the popular Sunday spot at another venue.

Both Elaine and I would like to express our deepest gratitude to the owners of NiaMoves, Helen and Kristie, who were very supportive and so willing to keep going despite the low numbers. We all had this vision of a regular meditation class as a perfect extension to all the other powerful classes being taught at NiaMoves.

On a happier note, our class at Unity goes strong, with a focussed group of around 20, sometimes even 30 participants. We are currently enjoying a break and will continue our classes on April 13. Join us at Unity and experience group meditation, discussion and contemplation, all for the benefit of learning more about the within.

We also decided to reach out to the public via Leisure Learning along with all other JCC classes and offer an 8-week course with fixed costs for students rather than our traditional love offerings.

The format will be changed slightly to accommodate the one-hour class, but will none-the-less be ideal for both beginners and experienced meditators.

We are looking forward to this opportunity and are excited to explore new ways of bringing meditation and peace to everyone.
